Jason M. Maycock, B.Sc., O.D.

Born and raised in Victoria, Dr. Jason Maycock returned to the island shortly after obtaining his Doctor of Optometry with distinction from Pacific University in Oregon. Dr. Maycock is a member of the optometric honour society, Beta Sigma Kappa, and was a past president of the Pacific University chapter. He was proud to become one of the third generation eye care professionals in the Maycock family, along with his sister Jodi.

Dr. Maycock would like to offer unsurpassed eyecare to satisfy each of his patients' individual vision needs and to maintain optimal eye health. With an emphasis on taking the time to listen and educate, Dr. Maycock offers a thorough eye examination with a focus on eye health. Special interests in the field of Optometry include co-management of ocular surgeries, disease management, challenging contact lens fits and low vision management.

Dr. Maycock enjoys spending the majority of his free time with his wife Carrie and their beagles, Molly and Lucy.

Jesse Petreman, B.Sc., O.D.

Dr. Jesse Petreman was born in Nanaimo, and grew up in Nanaimo and Kamloops, B.C. He graduated from Thompson Rivers University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University in Oregon.

During his studies, Dr. Petreman completed externships in ocular disease management and treatment at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial V.A. Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington.  He also gained an expertise in contact lens fitting within a specialty practice in Cleveland, Ohio, and furthered his training and knowledge in primary care optometry and low vision in Portland, Oregon. 

Dr. Petreman is excited to be a part of Maycock Eyecare, and enjoys serving his community’s vision needs. He takes the time to get to know each of his patients and their unique eye health and vision requirements.

Outside of work, Dr. Petreman enjoys spending time in the country with his partner, Janelle, their two horses and their wily Jack Russell, Digger.
