An experiment with nature was what founded Shwood in 2009. This Portland Oregon frame company was born from a limb of the Madrone tree and has grown to produce some of the worlds finest natural eyewear. They achieved their goal to create frames from material found in the nature around us.

Examples of these materials range from wood, seashells, pinecones, cactus and oxidized metals.

Matsuda encompasses 45 years of superb Japanese craftsmanship. Each piece of Matsuda's eyewear is meticulously crafted in artisan workshops. Only the finest materials are used for their frames; i.e. celluloid acetate, titanium, sterling silver, 18k gold and 22.5 k gold plating. The level of detail they are able to achieve in each piece of eyewear is just magnificent.

Milaskey Tipton Zachary developed Vinylize eyewear after looking through his father’s vinyl record collection. This eureka moment lead to him designing a frame line that upcycles vinyl records into fashionable eyewear and ‘wear the music’ was born.

Komorebi is a Belgian eyewear brand that subtly casts a new light on frame design and craftsmanship. The designer turns every sketch into an elegant frame with carefully designed details that are inspired by transparency, light and reflection.

The collection is based on the concept of komorebi, Japanese for “sunlight shining through the leaves. The frame are strong, light and made with timeless materials; either Mazzucchelli acetate or Japanese titanium.

All MASAHIROMARUYAMA frames are made in the Fukui prefecture of Japan. In Fukui prefecture, the history of eyewear manufacturing has developed over a century and our frames are manufactured at an old-established factory in Sabae City. We work with skilled craftsmen to bring each delicate asymmetrical design and detail to life, producing a product that computerized manufacturing methods simply cannot compete with. Here are several steps required to make a pair of titanium glasses, including making a mold, pressing, brazing, polishing, finishing the surface, and then assembling the individual parts. Pure titanium is lightweight but possesses excellent strength; it requires an advanced technique to process and polish the delicate design frames to ensure high quality. Plastic frames are constructed of Mazzucchelli’s acetate. Skilled craftsmen fill each piece by hand to create a comfortable fit and transition of thickness in an asymmetric design. They are then buffed and polished to a lustrous finish.
